I’m not sure how this month flew by so fast. One minute I was running Marine Corps Marathon. The next we are closing out the month of November. I’m not even sure that I accomplished anything LOL. But since tomorrow is the last Friday of the month and Saturday is the first Saturday of December, I am joining I’m joining Deb and Coco‘s virtual coffee date and throwing a runfession or two for Marcia as well.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I recently decided to do a small renovation on my kitchen. My house was built in 1939 and my stove is from 1962. It’s needed work for a while, but I kept finding better things to do with my money (ok maybe not better, but definitely more fun.) I almost got it upgraded a year and a half ago but I got ghosted by the contractor right after he gave me an estimate. I’m not sure what the final push was (maybe having to duct tape my one cabinet or perhaps lighting a burner with a match…), but my kitchen update starts on Monday. I’m equal parts excited and terrified.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’ve run every day since Thanksgiving so far. On Thursday I planned to run 3 miles and lift weights, but I ended up spending my day tracking down cabinets and the rest of my day trying to actually do my job. I would then have runfess that I ran one mile at 11:30pm and another at 12:01 am. Yeah, you do what you have to do.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I used to always run barefoot on my treadmill. I tried that for a mile yesterday and that’s a big ole NO right now. It definitely made my heel hurt more than it had since the laser treatment.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that tomorrow is going to be a crazy long day. My flight leaves at 6am for Nashville and my return flight is at 9pm central. LONG DAY! At least I’m good friends with my boss, who I’ll be with the entire time. But I’ll runfess that I thought about taking running shoes with me and running away (literally) for a while. Instead, I’ll take drink tickets and have a beer with him on the return flight. (And I’m lucky – my boss has been my friend since I was 19, so drinking a beer with him is not unusual.)
Now I must head to bed. That 4:00am alarm is going to happen way too early. Good thing there’s a lot of coffee in the world.
I am sure the kitchen renovation will be crazy for a while but will certainly be worth it! I love my kitchen. Good luck with the crazy travel schedule. Hope I get to see you in person sometime soon to catch up for real
WOot woot!! A fellow streaker 😉 That’s funny (but I can relate) to doing those two runs within such close proximity so you’d get the two different “days” done. Good luck!!
Your kitchen stove is amazing — does a turkey even fit in there? No wonder you have to re-size everything to replace it. Especially since ovens these days have gone to the other extreme of over-sized. Business travel can be draining. I hope your flight home was on time.
Best of luck to you on your kitchen! I really need to start lifting again (slowly but surely..).
Hope you had a safe flight!
Good luck with the kitchen upgrade! I’m thinking we may need a new fridge…
Safe travels!
Yikes! What a long day. Is it typical not to overnight on a business trip?
Nicely done dedication with your streak though
