Today’s topic for Tuesdays on the Run with Marcia and Patty is “Mother’s Day”. I became a runner when I became a mom, so the two are closely linked together in my mind. This post is a continuation of a last year’s post…
- you’ve ever checked a breast pump at gear check at a race.
- you paid more for your running stroller than your first car.
- you’ve ever picked up a kid from school in sweaty running clothes.
- you’ve ever had to run back to your car before you could pick up a sick kid from school.
- you get excited when your kids get bigger than you because every sweatshirt they outgrow is a potential race throwaway.
- you make your child get all of his service hours for middle school by volunteering at races.
- you’ve ever run intervals based on your kid’s bike speed.
- you have to buy all pink running accessories so that your boys don’t take them from you.
- you’ve ever crossed the finish line holding a kid, trying to catch up to a kid, or with a kid wearing a costume.
What would you add?

Ooooh the all-pink accessory thing is genius! Too bad I don’t have boys! Hahaha!
Ha! Great list. When my oldest son was in high school, he had to run for soccer. I made him run with me. We used to run at night, on dark country roads, and would try to scare each other. “Look! Up ahead! Is that an old dead tree or an ax murderer?”
You might be a mother runner if you’ve finished a run before picking up a sick kid from school… yep, I did that a couple times! Figured they were in good hands….
Ha! These are golden! The breast pump at gear check, though, can’t say I’ve ever done that LOL
Hmmm. I’d have to think on “you might be a furkid mother runner if . . . “, LOL!
When your baby is more into your medal than you are? My cousin just ran her marathon, and her daughter was really interested in the ribbon on the medal.
I love your list! I’ve never had to check a breast pump…now that’s a true runner!
Haha I’m not a mom but I have lots of mom friends who run and they would probably agree with this list.
Oh this is great! Love that the stroller cost more than the first car! Also love the out grown sweatshirts being potential throw a ways!
Ha these are great! When my kids were younger, I ran to an event at school just to make sure I got it in. Thanks for the linkup!
