So far this year, I’ve registered for a 5k, a 4 miler, and a half marathon that I may have to miss (and why would I miss it, you ask? Because Savor is that weekend and my beer drinking comes way before my running. Even if the race does involve vineyards.)
I also haven’t bought tickets for spring break and only bought tickets to St.Maarten because I was pretty sure Beer Geek was going to go without me if I didn’t take care of it. We are starting to get camp information in the mail and in early February we’ll have to start signing up for camps, which means I also need to think more about races in Montana or Utah or one of those big states out to the west.
And yet, (unlike previous years), my race calendar is not even pencilled in.
There are about 1000 spots left in the National Half Marathon this spring. I still have time to train for it. I know I’m available that morning. Could someone please tell me why I can’t seem to hit the “register” button?
Updated to add something totally unrelated: Today is Squirrel Appreciation Day. I’d really appreciate it if this squirrel would leave my house. ;o)

I'm still pretty gunshy about signing up for things after being injured. But sign up! I'm running National, we can high-five it up!
Hmmm….I'm sure some therapist could have fun with this! Go for National. You'll have fun and it's right in your home town.
I don't dare to register for races until the very last minute, since I have paid for some and had last minute things happened to me.So, yes, in a way, I am afraid of commitment. 🙂
i haven't registered for anything either, so this doesn't seem very odd to me
I completely understand… I'm really hesitant about signing up for anything as of late! I think stress can do that to us. You should totally go for it though!
OK – forget about those comments that say "sign up for something last minute" because you need to sign up for something in Utah, like, um, NOW! I would love to meet and drink some really good beer with you. Despite what some (many, many) people may think, we do have some great breweries here! I'm just sayin…..
I'm still trying to figure out what half's I'm going to run this year. If National is on your mind, you should do it!
I'm bad about waiting til the last minute and then the dumb thing gets sold out.
Sign up! You'll regret it if it fills and you didn't.
Or you could be like me. I signed up for the National half way back in the summer. I wanted to use it as a carrot to make sure I was running this winter. Great, right? Except then I went and got a part-time job that requires me to work that particular Saturday. So now I either have to find someone to work for me or not run.
Go for National!!
I feel exactly the same way. I have hesitated to register for anything in the spring (other than a local 5K I registered for on a whim). I think it's because my running has SUCKED so much lately. That'll do it!
Do you want to run it? If so, jump in, sign up!
I signed up for a marathon & now totally behind the training plan & wondering how the heck I'm going to pull this off.I'm usually a last minute kind of registrant, except the past few races have sold out on me as a result.
