A wise woman once said,
~Savor the Run~
I admit I don’t always do this. Sometimes, especially when I’m training for a longer event, I hate the run. Some days I only tolerate the run. On really bad days, I even skip the run.
It’s easy to ~savor the run~ when the weather is perfect and your body feels great and you get into a rhythm and go. Those are the days we all strive for. But to get those days, sometimes you have to run a not so perfect run. The ones where you think you are going to be blown off your feet. The ones in cold or rain. The ones where your legs are lead or your stomach threatens to empty itself on the neighbor’s yard. Because only by running those runs will you truly appreciate those where everything comes together in one.
So, the next time you are out there, hating on your run, remember: These are the runs that make the awesome runs happen.
~Savor the Run~ every.single.one.
And now, because the wise woman is so very very awesome, I have something to share with you…

These showed up in my mailbox a few days ago (ok, I ordered one). G couldn’t decide which color to send me. I can’t decide which color I like better. So you, my loyal readers, get to choose.
One of you will win a GBA sticker! And you get to choose which of the two colors you want! Whichever one you DON’T choose will end up on my beer refrigerator with my ever growing collection.

But wait! There’s more! (Welcome to the MCM Mama infomercial LOL). The lucky winner will also get one of my outdated lovely stickers. Just ignore the URL. ;o)

Just leave a comment if you want in. Winner will be chosen in some random manner – names in a hat, random.org, Shoo picking a number, something. Giveaway ends when I remember to draw a name.
What?” This is robbery! I thought for sure you were giving away tickets to the next iteration of Savor.
I’m always up for more stickers to add to my “door of fame” in my classroom! I do already have one of yours up! But haven’t received my GBA yet, so maybe I can win first! I suppose if you ever come out with a sticker that says “Will run for beer”…I won’t be able to put that up for my 5th graders to see, but I’ll stick it proudly on my TM!
Fun! Thanks for the giveaway!
I’ve had a bunch of cruddy runs lately (which i’ve chosen not to blog about) and FINALLY a good one yesterday and I was thinking sort of the same thing. All those cruddy runs made the good one happen.
LOVE the “savor the run” mantra — we all need, need, NEED to get back to basics with running more often than not. Running because we love it, not becuase we “have” to or are “in training” but because we love it, and are ABLE to.
I’d love to win! Yes- savor the run is something I need to remind myself of in training. Since I’m not following a strict plan right now, I’m doing a little better with it and really looking forward to each run.
I love the one on the right!!!
I love the one on my TM too.
SAVOR.THE.RUN.
freaking love it.
That’s just the sort of post I needed for today. My run was okay but not anywhere near where I want it to be. I still am having to walk to get my HR down. So I got home a little disappointed and I read your post and it reminded me that I have to to lots of these types of runs but I’ll get there in the end. Thanks.
I must be in a brain fog… I don’t know what GBA is? Help.
savor is a BIG WORD in my life.
I savor everything.
food to friends to family to fitness.
