This weekend was our favorite annual event: Great Taste of the Midwest!
It was exactly like every other year. Which is to say, it was AWESOME! The weather was perfect, the beers were yummy, and we got to see lots of old friends and meet some new.
The day started with a run along Lake Monona in Madison, as I tried to recover from Friday night’s beers…
Followed by the wait to get in (this is seriously the MOST organized beer festival ever)
And some good carbo loading (it is, afterall, a marathon not a sprint.)
Followed by the first of many beers (and the acquisition of the annual Bells Brewery swag – this year it was a plastic shark’s tooth LOL)
And then things got a little crazy…
And we found bacon on a stick…
And shockingly, did not run out of toilet paper…
And met up with one of our favorite brewers – Fred from New Holland (he gave me the t-shirt I’m wearing two years ago when we saw him)
And don’t forget to…
I accomplished nothing on Sunday and now I have to come crashing back to reality, but it was a super amazing weekend. On the bright side, I get to train in cooler weather for a couple of weeks and Kim arrives on Friday so we can run the Madison Mini together!
Sounds like you had a great time. Can’t figure out how you drink so much beer and not get a tummy!
Sounds fun! I love Madison, and the Madison Mini is one of my favorite halfs of all time! What a beautiful place to run!
Sounds like a ton of fun. I don’t know when I became such a craft beer fan but I’m there now.
I’m training at altitude in eastern Oregon this week, just to get ready to run with you in Wisconsin at sea level, right? Please tell me this is flat too. Can’t wait to see you and run the race with you.
I love beer! And Wisconsin cheese! It’s seriously the best ever.
I love that slogan!
It’s so important to have an ample supply of toilet paper. Lol!!
This looks like soooo much fun!!! And I chuckled so hard at “drink Wisconsibly” clever 🙂
No beers stood out?
Looks like a good time, although personally, I get ALL my carbs from beer!
