Since I never had time to actually sit down and write a post yesterday, I’m going with Three Things Friday. Maybe if I’m feeling really wild and crazy, I’ll give you five things Friday. We’ll see. ;o)
- Jones has strep again. We were supposed to see the ENT last week and then it snowed, so I need to reschedule that. Luckily, we actually saw his doctor yesterday (she’s way too popular, so we often have to see another dr. for sick visits) and she’s fine with us putting off surgery until spring break or summer, even if he gets a couple more infections. My crunchy mama side is having trouble with the thought of surgery and my “trying to stay sane” mama side is freaking out at the thought of my whiny child having something real to whine about for over a week.
- I’m trying to buy a Honda Pilot. I was nearly ready to put pen on paper at two dealerships yesterday, but neither had the exact car in stock. One says he can get it if I put a deposit down. I’m not sure why I was ok with buying if I could walk out right.then. with a car, but putting a deposit was something I wasn’t ready to do. I’m sure a therapist would have a good time with that one. There’s one other dealership that supposedly has the exact car in stock, so I may still get my new car this week. Or not.
- Today I’m taking my clients and we are running the route of the race for next week. I’m really excited to have them know the exact placement of hills and such. I love that they think it’s awesome to get a preview and they are really ready for this race. So.very.exciting!
- Do you live in VA or MD? I’m putting together a page of all the “local” running blogs. I have a mental list, but if you want to be included, shoot me an email at mom2shoo at gmail.com.
- Huge thank yous to everyone who has donated to BOMF, DC! I really appreciate it. I’d love to give you some link love, so shoot me an email if you are ok with me sharing that you donated.
Happy Friday! Don’t forget my giveaway!
How does that kid keep getting strep. Do I need to call CPS?:-)
we have the honda pilot and i have been very very happy
the surgery thing is scary, but you will not regret it. we had to have our daughters adenoids out and tubes put in and it ended up being the best thing we ever did.good luck on the Pilot front. I hate buying cars, I just get to stressed.
Surgery does sound like a scary thing, but my nephew had it done and is doing much better now. Getting a new car is so exciting!! I live in northern VA and have a blog, I'd love to be included.Happy Friday!
"I'm sure a therapist would have a good time with that one." *snort*I'm a VA blogger, oh hello!
Not strep again! Yikes.Good luck with the car deal.
GO to CarMax!
Sorry Jones has strep again, that's no good (tonsillectomy?). I had a honda previously and only have good things to say! I blog in VA and are you doing LTRYW5k, is that the 5k your group is working on running? A bunch of us are doing it, hope we see you there and can finally meet officially! 🙂
My brother had frequent strep when he was a kid, but my parents made the executive decision to opt out of surgery for him, and I can say that strep has continued to haunt him his entire adult life. He gets it pretty much every year. He has contemplated the surgery now as an adult, but recovery for an adult is 2-6 weeks, and he has never wanted to have to take that kind of time away from work. My parents now say they regret him not having the surgery when he was a child.
Wow. I can't believe he has strep again. Just a thought, as a child I would get strep and/or phenmonia frequently. I ended up being diagnosed with rheumatic fever (google it). It ended up attacking my large joints and damaging my heart. Maybe question your doctor about ruling it out. Earlier is better. (sorry for the seriousness downer)new car commitment is scary…wait, it's not the new car is't the debt. My Honda is a 2001.Enjoy the training run with your peeps.
I'm so sorry your little one is sick. I hope he gets better soon. Good luck with your new car 🙂
I love running race routes. It's such a confidence builder. And it's always better to learn if there's a hill/nasty surprise 10 minutes from the finish well before race day!
My 2 year old is chronically sick … we are starting to look at her immune system as the actual culprit. She is supposed to go in and do bloodwork when she is "healthy", unfortunately she always has some level of a cold running and we cant bring her in ;)Having sick kids is really tough. I hear ya Mama!
I go super-paranoid when my kids come down with sore throats – I worry that it's strep & it'll cause valvular heart disease that'll need open heart surgery. Can you tell I recover open heart patients?
Good luck with Jones and the surgery stuff. I hope he doesn't get sick again before the surgery.Have a good weekend!
