AKA hell of my own making.
XLMIC challenged us to run a race that was as challenging as we could make it. I did the best I could, but the weather decided to be only chilly and kind of windy, so it could have been worse…
- I’m pretty sure my sweat was made up entirely of red wine and Belgian beer.
- My toes hurt from standing in high heels for four hours the night before.
- I ran north/south in my neighborhood, which meant all hills.
Those hills were definitely hellish. And you know I don’t run them unless I have a reason. Thanks, XLMIC, for giving me a reason to challenge myself. 3.4 miles of quad straining goodness!
Nice work! Those hills looked like torture. I go out of my way to avoid hills (wimpy). Way to push yourself!
Nice job with the hills! I have most of my routes planned to avoid hills but I'll sometimes try to design a super hilly route, just for the challenge.
Nice job on the run and way to challenge yourself. Fun idea for a virtual race. I can never capture a hill accurately on the camera.
Take that, you hills! Good Work!
LOL, it is funny how nice and picturesque hills look like in photos.
If you're going to create your own hell, might as well make it super rough, right?Nicely done.
Love the caption of your first picture. You should have taken a second pic to show us!
Nice job? Those definitely look like killer hills!
I hate hills….hate them! Nice job though!
Awesome run! That elevation profile looks BRUTAL!!! Why is it that hills NEVER look as bad in pictures as they ARE in real life? I think we need to lay on our bellies when we take the pictures! Thanks so much for participating 🙂
Way to face the hills! I try to avoid them too, but they are a powerful tool for getting stronger. Now that we're living in a flat city, I kind of miss them…
Hills are so disappointing in photographs. They're like the huge spider you killed and wanted to show someone but the stupid thing just curled up in your hand in a little unimpressive ball. Well done on your own nightmare run.
Nice job! It does sound like we hydrated similarly…I hate that about photos of hills – they never look as brutal as they feel when I'm slugging my way up them!
Those are some mean looking hills! Great job pushing through and getting it done!
