This is what my house looks like this morning:
And it’s just going to get worse before it gets better as they rip out the ceiling in my dining room and the floor in Jones’ room.
This is my favorite time of year to run in Virginia – and I haven’t been running.
There’s been no lack of exercise, though.
Yesterday:
- I walked 2-3 miles over the course of the day.
- I carried at least 30 loads of stuff from the upstairs to the main level playroom or from the main level to the basement. (I’m pretty sure I even made a few trips between the second floor and the basement.)
- I lifted bookcases, took apart my son’s bunk beds (“this end up beds” will surely survive a nuclear blast. Just sayin’), emptied his closet…
- I shopped for chandeliers, school supplies, and shoes for the boy. (What did he end up with? 3 pairs of lightly used Mizuno Wave Riders from MY closet LOL).
The “rip the place apart” phase starts today and I plan to be on hand for all of it. I’m just hopeful I’ll get to run when everyone gets home for the day. Pretty sure that’s necessary for the safety of all who reside here.
Was your “first day of school” as chaotic as mine? I remember when the first day meant a coffee date with friends, sigh.
Good luck! I do have to admit that I am always a bit relieved when I find that I am not the only one living in chaos. I don’t even have an excuse…just busy times.
You’re definitely getting in some cross training with the walking and lifting and moving things. I’m sorry your “first day” wasn’t as relaxing as normal, I hope that you get a little breather sometime soon – you deserve it!
Didn’t sound like there was enough time to run in amongst all the other things you had to do. Good luck with that mess. I know it’ll be worth it when the floors are in but it’s hard to cope with clutter.
Home stuff always takes over everything else! Coffee date?? Oh when do those come around my way??!
