I owe you all some real posts – a review of Tommie Copper and a brewing with Mad Fox non-race report, but I find that my brain cells are otherwise occupied today. We have our annual beer dinner this weekend and I not only have not figure out the food, I don’t have the beer. So, it’s gonna be a bit of a crazy week. So, it’s bullet points for you.
- Don’t forget I have a giveaway going on right now for an entry to the Blue Ridge Marathon. Very low entries at this point!
- Last night I discovered I was having difficulty walking up the stairs. You’ve got to love a run that has you sore before you even go to bed. I apparently use one glute more than the other though, as only one side of my butt was sore.
- I ran this morning with the women I trained last year. It was a really fun four miles. Also? You know you are a runner when your glutes and quads are super sore and hurt every step and you think to yourself “Woohoo, four days in a row of pain free running.” LOL
- We put up our Christmas tree last night. Some idiot (ok, me) stored the tree in the luggage closet behind the luggage. In front of the luggage closet? The excessive amount of beer I’ve collected lately. The only good thing I can say about getting the tree out was that no beer was spilled in the process.
- Speaking of beer, on Saturday night I had a chocolate oatmeal stout that tasted just like chocolate. Gotta love getting your beer and your dessert in one glass. I was kind of disappointed that I was the driver and could only have one.
- Totally unrelated, Shoo and I went to the grocery store yesterday afternoon to pick up milk and a few other necessities. As we were checking out, I realized my wallet was empty. No credit card, no debit card, nothing. Luckily I had $40 in my jacket pocket that I’d discovered the night before and forgotten to remove. It was kind of a sobering experience to have to figure out exactly what I could afford to buy out of what we’d picked out. Reminded me how lucky we are that we never have to worry about the necessities. (And my cards were all right were I left them – sitting on my dining room table, sigh.)
- And, for your viewing pleasure, Shoo got his white belt this weekend! Check out the jump on his squat jumping jacks!
Hopefully I’ll get myself together and will have some posts of real substance soon…
Happy for you and your quads and glutes. I love it when my muscles are sore it means I worked extra hard.
at least your glutes get sore! mine are still mostly asleep.
Four pain-free runs in a row is fantastic. That must make you feel over the moon.
OKay I'm from Vermont and stored the tree behind the luggage does not compute.
Being "sore" and being "in pain" are two very different things! Glad you're feeling so good!
