I’ve been flying by the seat of my pants all summer. I had vague ideas about working out, entertaining my kids, doing my job, but I haven’t exactly been organized or methodical about it. As a result, I am currently surrounded by chaos. My house looks like a bomb went off (and that’s not even taking into account the actual fire damage.) I’m off schedule, the kids are off schedule, I can’t remember the last time I actually planned a meal more than an hour before we ate it…
Ugh. (I do well with a schedule, but I don’t do well creating a schedule when there are not external guidelines, like school.)
The kids go back to school a week from today. It’s time to start getting them up before 11 (yes, they inherited my body clock.) And maybe bed at a reasonable hour would be good. (I’ve been on the wrong side of midnight every night lately.)
And, oh hey, I just came up with my race schedule. Perhaps I should figure out how I’m going to go from running 4 miles to running 13.1 again.
And I just realized it’s only 6 weeks until the Baltimore Half.
Well, this should be interesting…
6 weeks is doable for rebuilding; your body will remember what you require of it.
Good luck organizing everything, with kids especially, when life gets off track, it just feels like pure chaos!
Yeah, with 6 weeks till your half, you’ll probably need a bit of consistency with your exercise. I’ve found that even though the kids are no longer in school I still structure my life with a schedule. If I don’t have one I feel a bit lost and don’t get anything done.
I feel like it’s totally mental. 100% mental. If you’ve been there, you can get there again.
