Last week I ran 36 miles. I’ve only done more than 35 miles in a week 5 times and my highest number EVER is 40 miles. Needless to say, I’m pretty darn proud of myself for hitting that number during HALF marathon training! Too bad I’m in taper right now or I’d be aiming to blow that number away LOL.
The coolest part? 15 of those miles were with clients last week and I have another 15 or so with clients again this week. Want someone to keep you company on your long slow run? I’m your girl. Need someone to help you hold a steady pace for a new race distance? That’s me too. Want to run super fast and place at a race? Umm, well, I can write a plan for that. LOL
I have two weeks of insanity coming up. 3 runs with clients each week, a long meeting with a non-running client, a training run with the Cancer to 5k group, Jones’ Blue and Gold Cub Scout banquet, a half marathon…
The most challenging part of balancing coaching and my running? Writing a taper plan that works for me and for them LOL.
That's why I gave up "coaching" – your first reponsibility is to the runner and not your goals.
Damn taper always messing everything up! That's why I train all my clients virtually. That way our runs don't need to mesh.
get a bike….
Wow! that's a lot of miles. I don't think I've ever run that much in one week – even when training for a full marathon.Good job!! It sounds like you are having a lot of fun runs!
You sound like a fabulous Coach! Similar to the Coaching, I finally gave up personal training because I was at the gym all.the.time, but never would take the time to work out for myself. NOT that I am suggesting you give it up, but I do get how it is tough to make all of the goals for everyone (and yourself) mesh well. Have a great week!
Awesome mileage! It seems like the coaching is going really well. It's great that you're so hands-on with your clients.
i hate tapering…..but good I mean great mileage!
awesome mileage! also, i loved your race recap. 🙂
Way to go on all of that mileage!!
Great job fitting their miles and your miles together. I don't know how you do that! I have enough trouble balancing my own plan without other runners to train. That's why I never trained anyone for road races, just fitness. And I don't really miss doing that. Now I'd rather have someone else tell me what to do. Bring on a Last Chance Workout Bob!
i think you are such a devoted coach…and that makes you amazing! especially with all of your mileage. wow!
major props to you. i'm kind of coaching this season and have to keep skipping the workouts (im not the only coach) because i can't balance their workouts with my own!
That's an impressive week!
It's awesome how many miles you are putting in WITH clients. My kind of coach!
It would be tough to manage to coach others and your own running. Good luck with finding the right balance as you taper!
Awesome mileage! I just had a 25 mile week. This week I will be at a wopping 0 since I'm moving. Dang it.
Whoo hoo! Nice week! And congrats on the great race while pacing! It really looks like coaching suits you, I'm excited to see where this goes for you!
