Today is an important day. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that it’s election day in the U.S.
Besides the Presidential Election, there are some very important issues on many state ballots. I’m not going to tell you how to vote. I thought long and hard about sharing my opinions, but I’ve decided that this is a running/mom blog, not a political blog.
So, all I’m going to say about that is
Get out there and Vote. Don’t let someone else decide your country’s future for you.
Continuing the call for action…
I think we’ve all heard about the devastation from Superstorm Sandy. Among the many who lost the most is one of our fellow running bloggers. Jen lives on Staten Island and lost her entire home to the storm surge. She and her family were left with almost nothing. If you’d like to know more, go here. If you’d just like to help her out, here’s a registry for items that they can use.
Want to donate in a different way? Here are a couple of virtual races: Run for the People of NYC and Racing for Relief.
So, GO!
Vote with your heart!
Help with your wallet!
And while you are at it, get a workout for your health!
Voted! Thanks for the good samaritan info — I’ll check it all out.
Yes! Vote! After being inundated by commercials from Washington state on some pretty important issues, I wish I could vote in your election!
I voted this morning as well! I think the registry idea for Jen is a wonderful idea. What a great way for people to give back and now that what they are giving is exactly what she and her family need.
Voting’s not optional in Australia. If you don’t, you get a fine and as I’m a bit of a penny-pincher, I always vote. But you’re totally right, it’s really important to have a say in how your country will be run.
Im glad it’s done and hope we can all come together now.
