Sorry, I couldn’t resist the reference after yesterday’s post…
But seriously, showering is messing with my fitness this week.
Normally, I get up, throw on some running clothes, get my kids to school, and then spend the day doing errands, working, and working out. My schedule fluctuates depending on whether I have any conference calls or deadlines, but somewhere in there, 4 out of 5 weekdays, is a run or something else. A shower may or may not happen before I get the kids from school.
This week has not been a good week for that. Today is the third day in a row where I need to be at the school. Monday was the awards ceremony. Tuesday was 5th grade graduation in the morning and then a graduation party in the evening. Today is Shoo’s class picnic. Monday and Tuesday involved makeup, heels, and skirts. Thankfully, today requires tennis shoes, shorts, and my hair in a pony tail.
Guess how much I’ve exercised this week so far…
Yeah. Once.
I did Tina’s Best Body Bootcamp Monday weight workout. I have an IRL BFF doing it as well, so there was no way I could skip it.
Today I’m turning things around. I WILL run after the picnic and I WILL do the Wednesday strength workout.
I need it. Even if it means showering again afterwards so that we can go out to a special dinner tonight.
Is there one thing in your life that messes with your motivation to work out?
If putting on a running bra when I wake up raises my work out chances to about 90%, showering apparently drops mine to about 5%. Sigh.
for me it is all TIME.
that damn clock FLYING messes with my OPPORTUNITY to move 😉
I hate showering twice and do all kinds of maneuverig to avoid it.
I hate when I have to shower early to go somewhere (that requires “real” clothes) – most days it is at least noon before I shower!
And 2 showers a day? Who has time for that?! (sadly, there are days where I have to but…)
Showering messes with my mojo but I’ve kind of learned to work with it. Learning when is best (sometimes I have to shower 2-3 times a day depending on schedule for work, and what workouts I have planned). Sometimes showering at night before bed is good, I feel like when I do it in the morning my mojo to workout is lower.
I totally agree with the sports bra thing, the sooner that thing is on the higher my chances of getting something done is. Fact: Sometimes I wear sports bras under my work clothes to keep my motivated to work out after work .
LOL. The shower is my favorite part of the day 🙂
I am traveling for work this week and haven’t managed a single workout yet…ugh! The time difference really messes with me, and i just can’t manage to get up…then I’m too tired by the end of the night or there are evening plans. I’m hoping tonight will be the night.
Mine would be a warm bed on a cold day. That tests my love of exercise.
When do your kids get out of school?
As I do my workouts very early in the morning I don’t really have any excuses. That’s exactly why I get up so early…so that nothing interferes with my training. I think a winter morning with a strong wind is my worst enemy. Cold is fine, but windy on top of that gets me down.
