My morning coffee is drunk out of a cup that says “Your happiness and job performance are influenced more by coffee than any other Factor.”
While some might argue that, yes, coffee is the most important motivator in my life, there is actually something else that is a more important factor in whether or not I work out.
Putting on a running bra when I wake up.
Seriously. If I get out of bed and put on my running bra, the chance that I will get in a workout at some point that day just skyrocketed. It doesn’t seem to matter if I put on the actual clothes I’m going to work out in. Somehow, as long as I’ve already got a workout bra on, I can need to change every other piece of clothing to work out and I’ll still do it. If I’ve put on a regular bra, my workout likelihood plummets. (Taking a shower when I wake up is a close second when it comes to destroying my exercise mojo.)
Do you have one decision you make every morning that affects your workout plans for the rest of the day? What is it?
Happy Friday the 13th, everyone! I consider that one of my lucky days and always have, but it was cemented when Beer Geek and I went on our first date on a Friday the 13th. So, something good must be coming my way today. ;o) (Despite the fact that every muscle in my body from my shoulders to my toes is sore LOL)
I always put on my workout clothes first thing, too! We usually either head out on a jogger stroller run, or to the gym for spin… even if I won't get it in til the afternoon, I've started wearing my workout clothes around more for errands, playground, whatever, and no longer care. 🙂
Shower in the morning greatly reduces the chances of workout. So, get your bra on and go run!
I work out after work, so as long as I pack the gym bag before work I'm guaranteed to get that workout in.On the weekends, I typically get dressed in my workout clothes too, so that I don't miss it!
Definitely agree on the shower thing–if I've put in the time to look presentable, I probably won't go get a sweat on later. Maybe that's why I am perpetually in my workout clothes?
Mine is that I have to get up as soon as my alarm goes off . . . if I don't, I do not workout in the AM and then I have to wait until the evening.
I love everything spandex and have so many leggings its borderline hoarding! If I sleep in leggings and get up at least by 5:30am (that is hitting snooze three times) then I know I'm gonna get a workout in someway somehow! Also packing my lunch and picking out my clothes for work the night before helps!Found you on the Fitness Friday Blog Hop!!www.lgifit.com
I workout first thing in the morning typically, so usually it's just making myself get up and out the door. For me if I put it off until later in the day, the likelihood of getting the workout in plummets!
haha, if I take a shower before working out for the day I'm basically admitting its a rest day.
I'm the same way! Even if my workout is later in the day, I have to get into some form of workout wear to avoid just staying in the same jeans all day.
Definitely a good idea to throw on a jogbra before anything else, & even better idea to have coffee ready!I lay everything out the night before to make sure I don't have any excuses 🙂
I was born on the 13th so any 13th seems lucky to me.I can't do my hair in the morning until I've worked out. If I do my hair there's almost no chance that I'm going to sweat.
Too funny – I just wrote on my blog today how I showered yesterday morning and then put on my workout clothes to just remind myself that the workout was coming at the end of the day. It's so helpful. Although I already got a comment from my 11 year old that I'm always in workout clothes therefore not acceptable to be seen at the middle school. Whatever.
Single most important factor – I've forced myself to start working out in the mornings before work. I'm not a morning person, I wasn't really a work out in the morning person either. Necessity causes us to do odd things.. come to find out, I don't mind working out in the morning. (Still don't like getting up, though)
That's such a good idea! Thanks for sharing!
That's funny! Hey, whatever works. Showering for me is key if I am at home. I shower before work regardless, but on the weekend I will not shower til my workouts are done!
This is such a good idea! For me if I don't make a plan ahead of time for when/where/what I'm going to do then I'll slack off and not end up working out. I'm just a typical Type A person like that 🙂
