- Beer Geek was on travel this week, so I was doing the solo parenting gig. I don’t know how anyone does this on a regular basis. I was brain dead by last night and it was only Wednesday. Thankfully, a good friend was in town for a conference and stayed at our house for two of the nights. It was awesome to have an adult to talk to in the evening (not to mention having someone to share a beer with LOL). Is it drinking by yourself if your kids are present? Kidding. Mostly.
- I’m trying to join the rest of the tech savvy world. I’ve needed a smart phone for a while, but am completely and totally overwhelmed by the options. The phones themselves are not cheap and I’m paranoid I’m going to get one and then find a better one. Wish you could do a week long trial and then try a different one out… (We also need a new tv for our basement and I’m feeling a bit of technology overload. I can use anything you hand me and am awesome at coming up to speed with technology, but apparently I can’t make a decision to save my life. )
- Jones’ school had their honor assembly this morning. Jones made honor roll and got a certificate, so I made him wear nice shorts and a polo to school. His response? Mom, why are you dressing me for church on a weekday? Seems like I might not be the only one in our family who needs to end up on “What not to wear”…

I don't know how people live without smart phones…I would still be lost in the middle of no where Vermont (and like 9 billion other places) without my google maps feature to get me home!
I blackberry but only for a little while. I didn't like the high bill. As far as tv's go, I would make sure it has an HDMI port (I'm sure all the new ones probably do) so you can cancel your cable and watch everything on Hulu! I read a book called "How to be a Geek Godess". Lots of great tips on how use technology to your benefit (like free tv via the internet).
LOL at dressing for church on a week day! That is too funny. I'm still in the "IdiotPhone" club but hope to upgrade… eventually. 🙂 Let us know what you choose!
You should have called me–we could have single parented together this week! And yes, what is it with boys of a certain age and their complete despair over looking decent?!Congrats on fitfluential, btw!! You had a great video.
Oh my, we have a piano recital tomorrow night and one of my boys asked if he could wear sport shorts. Dude, this is your 4th year of piano, the uniform hasn't changed….Oh single parenting that is my life about 2 weeks of every month….so feel your pain.
I was an adamant blackberry user, but since the iphone came to verizon i've switched…and have never looked back since!
I like my Blackberry Torch. It is my first smartphone and is very user friendly. It has a touch screen and it slides up to reveal a QWERTY keyboard for easy texting and typing. That's just my 2 cents.
I have had the original Motorola Droid for about 1 1/2 years and really like it. It does have a slide out keyboard – I don't think I could go without. Dressing for church – to cute!
I know AT&T allows you a 30 day return policy on phones – so you can try them out and return if you don't like. We've done it before.I couldn't get my kid to wear a shirt with a collar yesterday for his sister's 'graduation'. He said it was heavy and too uncomfortable to wear to school – sigh.
No matter which phone you get, you'll see features in another one that you wished you had.Haahaaa. What not to wear! My kids and I often look like the before photos from that show. We reguarly embarrass my hubbs.
Ok i have just a reg cell phone not a lot of bells or whisels. I dont know who to run all that other stuff. I am old fashion. Cograts to Jones. I admire people that have to do single parneting when their spouse travel.. I find it hard with two parnets let alone one.
