1. Yesterday, Shoo and I went to pick out the beer for the regional beer basket that I always donate to Jones’ school auction. I never remember to take a list of breweries with me and the individual beers are organized by type, not brewery or region. Add in a little help from Shoo and it was a bit frustrating. How did I handle it? By buying one of everything. Ok, not quite, but between buying a ton of Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania beers and buying every beer that Shoo thought was pretty, I ended up with 36 beers instead of the 12 I went to get. Here are the 12 that I’m actually putting in the basket. The rest will eventually end up in my belly. ;o)
2. I was going to start sending out my stickers this morning. I pulled out the cards I bought specifically for that reason and discovered that the stickers are too big. We all know I’m horrible about putting stuff in the mail. Did I really need another reason for delay? This works to your benefit though – if you want one and haven’t told me, shoot me an email at mom2shoo at gmail.com. I’m hopeful that I’ll resolve the issue some time in 2011. ;o)
3. On Tuesday, I met my trainer at his gym. He had me doing lunges and step overs with the Bosu ball. Then he threw in planks with leg lifts while balancing with my elbows on the ball. Then we moved on to upper body, where he nearly killed me by making me do bench presses with my shoulders on a stability ball. The end result? My a$$ really wishes I lived in a ranch style house and I can’t lift my arms above my head. Yeah, it’s all good.
Today I’d really like to get in my long run since I’m racing on Saturday. Unfortunately, it’s pouring rain. I’m not sure I’m up for 12 miles in the rain. My current plan is to run as long as I can stand it outside and then finish up on the treadmill. Fun times ahead…
I think its actually a warm rain out there, though. Hopefully you'll enjoy it more than you think!
I definitely want a sticker. I will shoot you an email when I get home:)I am laughing about the beer trip. That is what happens to me at the running store. Izzie picks out every gu, hammer gel etc…that she thinks we should get!
If you're ever in Texas you've got to try a Saint Arnold. Summer Pills and the Lawnmower are my favorite seasonal brews.
Another fine basket on your part!
That sounds like fun ~ I definitely will go out this weekend and recreate some of the beers in your basket. I'm pleased to report that 'random' beer is becoming a regular in my house… and next week is SPRING BREAK, which is legally the time when beer drinking should be exponentially increased? Right? I'm still working through the Starr Hill line, but soon I will be ready to branch out ~ expect an e-mail.
i like that shoo helps you pick out beer. put on your umbrella hat and go!
Those bottles are so pretty! Good choices, Shoo!!Planks are the Bosu are KILLER.
Awesome choices! You can stock my frig. as well 😀
I can't remember if I told you I want one but I do! Love the beer basket. I bet it brings in a boatload of money!
I am the worst mailer-outer too. But, the beer looks good!!
that's an EXCELLENT idea for a raffle item! i'd totally donate one of those…. and now i know what i can ask from my favorite beer store when another donation season comes around….
Hey, at least you found a good way to put the extra beer to use. Haha. I think a regional beer basket is a great idea for a fundraiser!
lol at your envelope mishap. i'm thinking i should just print out a picture of your sticker at this rate 😉
I just discovered how much I like the Brawler. That stuff is goooood.
Mmm, I wish I could win that basket. YUMMY!I will also second Alecia's recommendation for Lawnmower, which I enjoyed in Dallas. Very simple and summery, but very tasty too.
