1. Yesterday, I rejoined the county fitness center. I spent 30 minutes on the elliptical and 20 on the recumbent bike. My feet were cramping during the biking. Not sure if that was because of the VFFs or if I have something going on. Then I did a lower body weight workout, which went well until I tried to do some leg curls (don’t know what the machine is called – you lie on your stomach and the weight is at your ankles and you curl your feet toward your butt). Anyways, I did the first one and my bad calf cramped so bad I had to jump off the machine and stand up. I adjusted where the weights hit (and lowered the amount of weight) and the same thing happened. WTH?
2. So far, having a big chunk of day to myself has really improved my evenings. I’m much more present with my kids, instead of wanting to run away by dinner time. I’m also finding I have a lot more energy, so I’m getting a lot done while they are gone and stuff done in the evening too. I wonder how long that will last LOL. Spending the last two weeks basically stuck at home with my arguing boys while Jones recovered really sapped me, so it’s pretty nice to be bouncing back quickly. And I didn’t even have champagne yesterday. ;o)
3. Oddly, the one thing that seems to have fallen off the radar is blogging. I’m barely finding time to write anything and having a heck of a time finding time to comment and read. And twitter seems to have completely fallen off my radar. I just have so many things I can do and nobody to interrupt me or get in the way (or prevent me from throwing stuff away)! I have a long way to go, but I’m totally reveling in getting my house back in order. Of course, not running hasn’t helped. I’m running out of things to talk about. ;o)
Don’t forget – less than two more days for my YMX Shirt giveaway! Make sure you get your entry in!
Ironically, my feet will cramp on an elliptical or stairmaster, but never when running. Huh…
that hamstring curl machine always feels weird to me too…not sure what the deal is.i'm so happy for you that you have all this "me time!" it will be a while before i am where you are, but i'm looking forward to it.glad this first week of school is going well!!
At times having too much "unstructured" time hurts me in the productivity area. I'm amazed at what I can accomplish when I have hard timelines but give me an open day and I might be lucky to get out of my pjs!Love that you rejoin the fitness center. Wonder if it was just the muscles being used in a different way? Odd.I am hit or miss with blogging. I do when I have something to say and time to say it. Reading, I do every day. Commenting, I try my best.
I have a hard time with twitter. It seems so time consuming (kind of like blogging is)
My toes mysteriously "fall asleep" while on the elliptical. It's wierd.
It takes a while to get into a groove once the kids are in school all day.I have also found that the idea of having so much time means that if I'm not careful, I can waste it. Lists work for me!
Nice that you were able to hit the gym during some of your 'you' time!
I'm soooo with ya on #3. No Champagne on Wednesday?! What is the world coming to? Hopefully champagne Thursday's!! 😉
That's curious about your calf … maybe its just tight from the elliptical/bike and didn't want to work?!?That's great that you've been able to find the time to get more done during the day 🙂 I enjoy that very much about being unemployed right now!
Hi! Stopping by from MBC. Great blog!Have a nice day!
