1. The ceilings in our basement are done and I’ve cleaned up most of the dust. Now comes the part I really suck at: picking paint colors. I spent a ridiculous amount of time at the local Benjamin Moore paint store and came home with a color I hated LOL. Yesterday, I took Jones back and let him pick two colors for me to try. Guess what? They rock. One color we’ll use for the big, light filled room, the other we’ll use for the small bedroom and the hallway that gets very little natural light. Note to self: take the artist in the family for color related decisions. (Now comes the next part I hate: the actual painting, sigh.)
2. I know I’ve mentioned lately that I have a lot on my plate. Much of it is winding down, but sometimes just getting through the last few days is killer. I’ve been staying up until midnight most nights and back up at 6 am most mornings. I could survive like that, except for, you guessed it, insomnia. I fall asleep fine, but if anything wakes me up, I can.not. go back to sleep. I really need a brain with an on/off switch or a mute button or something! On the bright side, preschool council meetings are over, there’s only one more PTA meeting and then I’m done with my gig as secretary, I only have two more articles to write for the neighborhood newsletters before the summer hiatus, and one half of the big project I’m working on will go live today or tomorrow and the other half will be done Sunday! Light at the end of the tunnel, baby!
3. Yesterday was Shoo’s last singalong at preschool. It’s hard to believe that in 1.5 weeks, he’ll be done. My baby is heading to kindergarten. It seems like just yesterday that I was fighting postpartum depression with Jones and suddenly I have a 9 year old and a 5 year old. In less than four months, they’ll both be at the same school. I’m excited and sad at the same time.
Where did my baby go?
Rock on, my friends. It’s Thursday, which means it’s the day before Friday. Woot!
Good luck with the painting – not a fun task, but so rewarding once complete!Laying in bed thinking, thinking, thinking is the worst feeling. Hope you can catch up on some sleep soon!
Choosing the right paint color is hard! Glad you have a mini-consultant to help. The end of preschool is bittersweet, I think. But trust me, life is good once they're both in school all day!
my last one is done with preschool in 3 weeks then it is on to all day Kindergarden. I feel sad sometimes, but I am so ready to move on. (she is #4)I am not great at painting or picking paints….good luck!!!
Great job to the little dude on the paint color! Love the one on the far right. At least your kid is wearing shoes that fit him – mine found some Pollywags that look like fish but his feet are about 3 inches too big for them. Good luck with the transition this Fall to K!
I hate painting but I love how much it changes a room 🙂
You're little boy is becoming a little man!
Good luck with the painting, and sleeping. I've suffered from insomnia before, hthough it seems to be in check lately. Do you keep a pen and paper by your bed? If I wake up with something on my mind, I write down a topic or a list – to think about tomorrow. It really helps me to fall back to sleep.
We always have a tough time picking out colors, glad you have it worked out! When I don't run enough, I have insomnia too! ugh!Shoo is too cute, I love that they have a sing-a-long!
I love painting – wish I lived close so I could help. OK I suck at painting but I LOVE painting.Love the photos!!Sorry about the non-sleep. I feel ya, trust me.Do like Amy's idea though. 😉
I'm not a fan of the painting either. Good luck surviving! I hope as things settle down you are able to get more sleep. Insomnia is the worst.
ooh boy can't wait to see what outfits he comes up with for graduations and such ;)the baby pic is sooo cute!good luck with painting… i've been in my house for almost 5 yrs and STILL haven't finished painting…..
I hate painting so much. If I never have to paint again that will be just fine with me!! UGH!Love the pic…they grow up so fast.
We just finished picking out paint colors, too, for the exterior of our house. YIPES! We narrowed it down to 3 colors and let the kiddo chose, as well. He picked my favorite, so I'm happy, though he didn't know he did. Living in the same chaos. Haven't slept all week, despite being EXHAUSTED. Some nights (been like this since college) it seems I wake every hour on the hour. Not helpful sleep at all.Hope everything chills out for your soon!!
