It seemed like a good idea at the time.
We had a busy October schedule.
We could get it all over at once.
What am I talking about? This weekend, we are hosting 4 of Jones’ friends for a Saturday night sleep over. Five boys taking over the man cave for a late night of Minecraft, Wii, and movies.
But we couldn’t leave it at that. No, we decided that we’d have Shoo’s birthday party on Sunday morning. So, 11 eight year olds + 4 twelve year olds = one heck of a laser tag party!
But wait! That’s not all! Today I’m going on a field trip with Shoo’s class to a fall festival (I’m actually kind of sad as this is probably the last time we’ll go, after having gone nearly every year since Jones was 2) and tonight Jones’ is playing cello at the fall Pops concert. Saturday morning, Shoo has a soccer game.
Somewhere in there I need to bake Jones’ cake (if you are friends with me on facebook, you know I failed to keep the recipe from last year and, of course, that’s the cake he wants this year). I also need to bake and decorate “brains” cupcakes for Shoo.
Once again, I question why we had two October babies, but then I remember that I didn’t actually have much say in the matter.
Meanwhile, I’m managing to squeeze in both work and workouts. I had an awesome ride at Revolve on Wednesday (addicted much?) and yesterday’s run was one of those runs you live for. 4 miles at an average pace of 9:22. It just felt… good.
Why is it that often, the run you least want to do, turns out to be the one that makes you feel the best?
That schedule seemed like a good idea ever? I’m tired just reading about it.
