Well, that was expensive + 1 more month

December 3, 2013 by MCM Mama 12 Comments

I’ve only gone shopping on Black Friday once in my life that I can remember.  My first year working as a professional I went a little crazy at Macy’s buying work clothes.  But going crazy in the women’s department at Macy’s is a bit different from camping out at Best Buy three days in advance.  (Yes, that happened around here.  My time is worth more than that.)

Now there’s online shopping.

Whoa, Nelly!  I may have gone a teeny tiny bit crazy.

Wanna know what I got?

  • 2 running skirts + 1 running capri from Skirt Sports
  • many boxes of nuun (no, I’m not telling you how many)
  • a large number of Simply Snackin’ beef snacks
  • entry into Zooma Annapolis (yes, I’m going back and I have the single goal of running faster than the first time…)

Guess I know what my Christmas presents are LOL. Time to buy some presents for someone besides myself. ;o)

As we head into December, I’m starting to evaluate 2013 and plan for 2014.  Overall, I’ve been pleased with my year.  I’ve hit most of my major goals and I’ve gotten sort of back on track with my running.  The problem there is it’s only “sort of”.  Remember when I used to create training plans and at least attempt to follow them?  I’m about to run my 4th half marathon for the fall and I’ve yet to train for any of them.  WTH?  Perhaps actually training might be my goal for 2014…

How ’bout you?  As we head in to the last bit of 2013, are you happy with what you’ve accomplished? (I am, mostly).  What will you differently in 2014? (Me? I’m going for actually upping my mileage again…)

Yeah…I definitely went a little crazy online between Friday and Monday. I was tempted by the Zooma email, but after asking friends about their race experience I decided to pass. Reality is seeing all the “your order has shipped” emails that you flagged in your inbox and then click on the tracking numbers every 5 minutes…

Haha, I buy presents for myself for the family to give to me too. It just works better that way.

I too did a lot of online shopping. In fact, everything for our distant family was purchased via Amazon.

The benefit of being single this year is pretty much every penny I spend is on MEEEEEE. I only bought 2 boxes of Nuun 😀

I didn’t accomplish a whole lot other than, you know, becoming a dad. I think I’ll try running again sometime soon. We did minimal shopping over the consumer holiday, but I did bottle our Christmas ale last night, which will be given away as gifts. Cheers!

I guess you can count your previous half marathons as training.

I did some on line shopping too – nothing for myself cause I couldn’t find any cyber deals on the races I wanted. Definitely making bigger plans for 2014 after this year was kind of a mixed bag on my goals.

It’s so easy to buy yourself presents at Christmas time. And why not with great prices? I need to evaluate things for 14. I want to do some tris, I’m doing a long trip in the summer that will interfere with races so I’ll base stuff around that. I would be going back to that Portland Half (the hot one) if the date wasn’t a day after I return. My husband who is not going on the trip would shoot me.

Nice shopping! I have also bought a few things for myself lately (shocker, they are all running/fitness related).

You have had an awesome year so far and accomplished a ton!

I am happy with the year I have had, obviously there are always things i would like to change but that gives me something to work towards next year!
