Last year, when ZOOMA announced that they were adding the Dirty Damsel trail race to their suite of races, I was pretty excited. I was already a fan of ZOOMA (and an ambassador in 2014) and I’ve been wanting to try a trail race for a while. Unfortunately, my schedule did not allow for me to join them.
This year the Dirty Damsel is being held on October 3, 2015. It’s an easy drive from the DC area and packet pick up is the morning of the race, so you don’t have to make a special trip anywhere beforehand. You get an awesome tech tee, a medal, and as much mud as you want.
ZOOMA’s Mission for Dirty Damsel:
- To encourage women to experience the playfulness and challenge of off-road running.
- To offer an accessible introduction to trail running for women and an opportunity participate in a trail race in a supportive and fun environment.
- To be good stewards of the environment in which we run.
I had this race on my mental list until Ragnar DC was scheduled for that weekend. Then when I dropped out of Ragnar, I put it back. Sadly I have to take it back off. October is just crazy for us with races, soccer tournaments, and two kids having birthdays. Add in some work travel for both Beer Geek and myself and you have a completely tapped out Mama.
But this is where you benefit!!! As a former ambassador, ZOOMA offered me a free entry into the race. They have given me permission to give that entry away!
Want to run Dirty Damsel? I’m doing a quick and dirty (ha!) giveaway. Leave a comment that you want the entry before Sunday, September 13 at midnight and I’ll announce the winner on Monday September 14.
Disclaimer: ZOOMA is providing a free entry to Dirty Damsel to one of my readers. All opinions are my own.
Sorry, no interest in getting dirty! 🙂
No entry for me but this is a good race! I ran it last year and had a good time. EX2, a local group who has an excellent trail series, co-directed it last year and it was very well done! It’s not insanely technical so the 5K or 10K would be a great choice if you are new to trail running.
I haven’t run a trail race yet, so it’d be a lot of fun to try it out!
Would love an entry!
Sarah
Oooh! I would love to try this! 🙂
Bummer that weekend is already filled for me. I have run a different trail race at Rosaryville State Park and really enjoyed it.
Good luck! Looks like fun!
Just saw this and have been dying to get in on this race! I love what it stands for and what it supports!!
I’d love to do this, too bad everything else is happening that weekend!
