This past weekend was incredible! It always amazes me that working so hard can be so fun!
I got into Providence on Thursday afternoon and met the rest of the ZOOMA crew for the drive to Falmouth. We headed to the Sea Crest where we met to course director for a drive around the course. I was in the way back of the van, so no pictures were taken, but the course was absolutely gorgeous. Then we headed back to the Sea Crest for dinner and a relatively early bedtime.
Friday I popped out of bed before my alarm and headed for a short run along the coast. I was lucky because I managed to get out and back before the rains came.
Next up was hours of prepping for and then attending the ZOOMA expo. I got to meet a lot of the ambassadors and many runners. While I did spend a lot of time moving around the event for various reasons, I got to spend the majority of the time welcoming women at the entrance to the event. Yes, I actually get paid to do cool things like that. Not a hard life.
After a long day at the expo and some post expo errands, I crashed hard. I knew my wake up would come early, but I was ready to go when the alarm went off. It was go time!
The best part of ZOOMA Cape Cod for me was that I got to spend the entire morning at the finish line! I was there for the first 10K finishers and for the last half marathon finisher. I cheered, I rang cowbells, I placed medals over heads, and high fived runners. I seriously loved every single moment of it.
When the day was over, I got to spend some time with some of the Cape Cod ambassadors and some Skirt Sports ambassadors. There may have been some craft beer involved.
Sunday morning brought a quick trip to the beach to check out our Sunday morning yoga and then I headed to the airport for my trip home.
All in all, it was pretty darned amazing! Want to join me? Use ERIKA2018 for 10% off of the Florida race. I expect that one is going to be just as much fun!

Looks like a fun event! I love Cape Cod and think it would be a great place for a race.
That race does look like so much fun!! I love the Cape but haven’t been there in years. And i’m jealous of your job- it sounds like a blast!
Looks like so much fun! I love that ZOOMA is picking all these beautiful race locations.
What a great weekend! Working for Zooma sounds like a great job. So sorry I missed this race. My sister lives on the Cape and I have been looking at the Zooma race as an excuse to go up and visit her. I haven’t been signing up for any races, though, because of an injury.
Looks like a really fun weekend with friends old and new!
Aww, at the finish line giving out medals is the best place to be (if you aren’t racing)! How fun!
What does your black shirt say? -M
I really enjoyed doing ZOOMA Cape Cod a few years ago – it was just such a beautiful place to run! Glad you had a blast!
What a great medals shot. I so wanted to do this one, but the calendar didn’t work. Cape in the fall is the best
Looks like a fun way to spend a weekend! Love that section of the Cape – especially Old Silver Beach.
Seriously, I want YOUR job! This looks so fun…especially being at the finish line of the race(s). 😉
I haven’t been to Cape Cod since my 13 year old was a baby. I’ll bet Florida will be a blast.
I had actually signed up for ZOOMA Cape Cod last year but withdrew because they cancelled the half and didn’t wait to pay for a fun 10k.
I still want to run in Cape Cod sometime. Looks inviting.
