I was going to call this Five Things I’m Loving Right Now, but then I realized everything I was listing was a food or beverage. I must be hungry…
1. My Sodastream.
It took me a really long time to decide to buy one. I have a tiny kitchen with virtually no counter space and very little remaining cupboard space. I finally bought it anyway. Oh my. I’ve never been so well hydrated in my life. Why does water with bubbles taste so much better than flat water? It now has a permanent home on my counter.
2. Pickled Cauliflower.
I eat a LOT of cauliflower. Not as much as I did when I was pregnant with Shoo (I averaged a head every couple of days), but at least one head a week. My mom pickled a bunch for me last fall. It’s so yummy!!! And since I’ve replaced my nuun addiction with fizzy water, I love the saltiness after a sweaty run.
3. Godiva coffee.
Until recently, I only drank two brands of coffee at home: Dunkin Donuts and Berres Brothers (a coffee roaster local to my parents). I first tried the Godiva coffee when I won some from another blog. So good! Now it’s my first choice and I stock up every time it’s on sale. The best part is that it has a deeper, stronger flavor than DD or Berres, so I actually can use less ground coffee for the same pot of coffee. Win/win – good flavor and saving money!
4. Simply Snackin’ meat sticks
I first got these as a sample to review. I fell in love with the beef flavors. They are all 60 calories, lots of protein, and have just enough sweetness to fulfill my sweet tooth cravings. Even better, I can read and pronounce all of the ingredients. They are a Wisconsin company, so my mom brings me some when she comes, but I’m out and I’m dying for more. I may actually have to suck it up and order some (and I keep missing their free shipping codes, sigh.)
This is another vegetable that I’ve always loved, but this summer I discovered that if I slice it thin and fry it in coconut oil, it’s amazing! Who needs chips??? Sadly, I just finished the last one I brought back from my parents’ garden. (Yes, I did bring a suitcase full of kohlrabi, cucumber, cabbage, squash, and tomatoes.) I can buy it at the grocery store, but it’s crazy expensive. Fingers crossed I can still find some at the farmer’s market.

Strawberries! We’ve had a glut of them on the market and they’re really, really good so I’m eating as many as I can till the season’s over.
Beets! I am loving beets! Natural vasodilators for some good blood flow during runs!
